Will Google Wave revolutionize online communications?

September 30th, 2009 by Chris Leave a reply »

Released earlier this week to a select group of 100,000 user, the Google Wave is about to splash down – I know, pretty cheesy but had to. The new online collaboration tool release by the undisputed ruler of the web, is meant to deliver a real-time collaboration platform across a broad spectrum of media, from text documents to photos to online applications. Pretty cool, huh.

The promise of the Wave is pretty big…I think? As reported by the NY Daily News, the new communication platform is something like; e-mail meets instant messaging meets Wikipedia meets Twitter meets Facebook…and so on. If so, how long will it be until Google flex’s its muscles and takes over supreme control over the Internet?

On a more technical note, their introduction of the Federation Protocol could be pretty disruptive…
